Specializing in Couples in Crisis, Co-Parenting and Divorce, Individual and Family Therapy: Given the importance of marriage and family for most people, a relationship crisis can be one of the most difficult and high-stakes challenges faced. My best work is with couples who are worried about the future, for themselves and often for their children. Discernment Counseling will help you and your spouse explore what has happened in the relationship to lead to the crisis, and the possible, realistic solutions. Each person must decide the best solution, and then together put into place a quality plan to help the family be healthy for the future. I have been working with individuals and couples in relationships for 16 years.
When a marriage ends, children’s well-being is the priority for most parents. I have experience working with these parents, along with Collaborative Divorce attorneys to help make a child-centered parenting plan, coach parents on what children need, and mediate parenting conflicts that get in the way of healing.

Rethinking infidelity … a talk for anyone who has ever loved (Esther Perel on long-term relationships)

Even though this podcast seems to be about how to talk to young people about life’s tough subjects, it’s pertinent to communicating at any age about sexual activity and consent, racism, and straight-talk about difficult circumstances around death. The last portion of the episode interviews children about their intact felt-sense of grief and the healing that comes from processing verbally about their physical sensations.
